Agenda
The objective of the meeting is to:
- design a protocol for recording the variability of the...
- paper making sieve,
- it's imprint in the paper (wet and dry);
- discuss the possibility of such an experiment in actual paper making mills.
Elements of discussion:
- presentation of participants, their expertise areas and possible involvement in the experiment
- presentation of types of paper moulds and paper samples
- the transformation chain of the sieve imprint from mould wire, to wet paper on to sieve, to wet paper in the wet paper stack, to dried paper, to coated and polished paper, to an handdrawn and machine made analog reproduction of the imprint, to a digital reproduction, to a measurement of the imprint morphology
- analog recording of sieve and imprint: reproduction matrerial, setup, protocol
- computer model of sieve mouvements in time and imprint transformation
- evaluation of the impact of imprint variability on paper expertise (measurement precission, dating and authentication)
Other topics:
- interpretation of radiographic images - what are the features that we see?
- zig-zag of the threads holding the screen to the wooden beams (KB818, in AD751 batch images or in T30 > Sci > 4. Soft > ... > batch)
